Janine Starr

After earning both an MBA and a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Baylor University, Janine Star built a successful career in management consulting and human resources, working with global organizations and leading complex projects around the world. While her corporate experience sharpened her expertise in leadership, communication, and project management, her lifelong passion for residential construction, architecture, and design ultimately led her to found J9 HOMES in 2013.

Since then, Janine has successfully managed more than 80 custom home builds and remodels, overseeing over $25 million in construction budgets. She brings a collaborative, transparent approach to every project, treating each home as if it were her own. By combining strategic planning with exceptional craftsmanship and client service, Janine is committed to delivering not only beautiful homes, but an experience that exceeds expectations from concept to completion.

Accounts Payable

DeeDee Green

DeeDee oversees accounts payable, ensuring every invoice is reviewed with accuracy, consistency, and care. She manages the payment process from start to finish, helping maintain strong relationships with our trusted trade partners and vendors while supporting the seamless execution of every project. With many years of experience in customer service and nonprofit work, DeeDee brings a people-first approach to everything she does. Her attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to clear communication make her an invaluable part of the J9 Homes team.

A Texas native, DeeDee has called Austin home for many years, where she and her husband, Matt, raised their three sons. Outside of work, you'll find her on the tennis court, golf course, around a mahjong table, or enjoying a meal at one of her favorite local spots, Jack Allen's Kitchen.

Project Manager

Kristin Vetromile

Kristin joined the J9 HOMES team in early 2023. A jack of all trades for sure, there truly is nothing Kristin cannot do! Kristin joined our team as a Project Manager after running her own remodel business for over 10 years where she was not only the owner, but completed all the labor herself! She also was a paramedic for 17 years and still maintains her EMT certification. She is excited about her transition into J9 HOMES, as she can continue doing the work that she loves, with the assistance of a great team of trades.

Kristin was born in Richmond, VA, but has lived all over the US and Italy as the daughter of a Navy veteran. She and her husband have two sons and have lived in Austin for over 11 years. Kristin loves camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, and leading her son’s boy scouts troop.

Materials Manager

Rachel James-Dolan

Rachel serves as J9 HOMES' Materials Manager, combining over a decade of interior design experience with a keen eye for sourcing quality materials and managing selections throughout the building process. A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin's School of Architecture with a degree in Interior Design, she works closely with architects, designers, vendors, and clients to ensure every detail aligns with the project's vision and budget.

Known for her collaborative approach and thoughtful attention to detail, Rachel helps create a seamless selections process that supports both beautiful design and successful project execution. Outside of work, she enjoys golf, gardening, and traveling - experiences that continue to inspire her creativity and appreciation for thoughtful design.

Estimator, Permits, and Trade Relations Manager

Tiffany Avila

Tiffany is J9 HOMES' Estimator, Permits, and Trade Relations Manager, bringing extensive experience in real estate, construction, and investment properties. A licensed Realtor since 2011, she has worked across residential permitting, budgeting, design selections, and project management. Her deep understanding of the building process and strong relationships with trade partners make her an integral part of every project.

A graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Business, Tiffany has built her career around a lifelong passion for homes- from investing and remodeling to new construction. She combines a sharp eye for detail with a collaborative approach to help ensure every project is delivered successfully.

Outside of work, Tiffany enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, wine tasting, and spending time with her family, who have called Austin home since 2007.

Project Manager

Zach Castro

Zach’s path into construction wasn’t planned, it found him. After working a variety of roles across real estate, he got the opportunity to oversee contractors from an investment perspective, and quickly realized he had both a knack and a genuine love for leading from that oversight seat. When that chapter ended, he started his own capital advisory firm before earning his home inspection license to learn the build side from the ground up. From there he moved into new construction as a Project Director, sharpening his eye for oversight at scale. The pull into luxury remodeling came down to one thing: a desire to keep elevating himself and the caliber of what he builds.

Zach grew up in Thousand Oaks, California, and moved to Texas in 2019. He and his wife, Nikki, live in Austin with their two daughters, three-year-old Amari Joy and one-year-old Eden Grace. Outside of work, Zach and his family are active members of Victory City Church, where he’s led the Next Steps team and now helps develop the youth team.

Accounts Receivable

Kelli King

Kelli brings extensive experience in bank finance management and construction job-cost accounting to the J9 Homes accounting team. Known for her warm personality, she is kind, helpful, and collaborative, supporting team efforts to improve procedures and efficiency while ensuring a smooth experience for customers. A fifth-generation Texan, Kelli attended school in Austin and raised her three children in Round Rock. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, playing Bunco and Mahjongg, dancing, and shopping.
